Our content is informed by publicly available guidance from the Information Commissioner’s Office and official Google documentation. The ICO explains that websites should tell people if cookies are set, clearly explain what those cookies do and why, and obtain actively and clearly given consent unless a limited essential-cookie exception applies.
Google Consent Mode is also relevant for many websites using Google Analytics, Google Ads or Google Tag Manager because it allows consent choices to be communicated to Google so tags can adjust their behaviour based on the user’s choice.
